CEO & Co-Founder
Twenty years in an operating room taught Fawaz how fragile health can be; a decade in senior leadership showed him how resilient systems must become. A neurosurgeon who has served on provincial committees for care-delivery and an expert in disability management reform, he stitches together insights from the bedside, the boardroom, and the policy table to keep Actic laser-focused on getting people well and back to work.
CTO & Co-Founder
For 25 years Kevin has turned complex ideas into mission-critical software that quietly serves millions. After leading engineering teams at Adobe, Kobo, and League, he believes the best tech “just works” and then gets out of the way. At Actic he’s translating that philosophy into a privacy-first, real-time platform built to scale across national health systems—and, above all, to help workers heal faster and return to the jobs that give their lives meaning.
Co-Founder
For two decades Jaafer has taken ideas from sketchpad to successful exit—building ScrapHD, Carbyn, and Statflo, and backing others as a venture investor. A former Accenture consultant, he knows the tech ecosystem from codebase to boardroom. At Actic he shapes long-term strategy, manages investor relationships, and keeps governance tight, acting as the CEO’s sounding board to ensure the company grows without losing its mission.
Chief Operating Officer
Claudia’s career sits at the intersection of care, compliance, and operational excellence. With decades of experience steering healthcare organizations through HR, privacy, and governance challenges—and a strategic stint advising agile startups—she ensures Actic’s platform operates with precision, scalability, and integrity. Claudia safeguards the trust the platform demands while optimizing workflows, streamlining processes, and keeping operations responsive and resilient.
Advisor, Musculoskeletal Medicine
David sees stories in data. A Full Professor at Western University with 200-plus peer-reviewed publications, a leading textbook in the field, and a ranking amongst the world's top 2% of researchers in musculoskeletal pain and rehabilitation, he translates findings into everyday clinical decisions to ease pain sooner and keep workers on the move.
Advisor, Mental Health
Robert pairs academic rigor with real world impact. An associate professor at Dartmouth’s Geisel School of Medicine, and with over two decades of clinical and academic leadership he has translated cutting-edge science into everyday practice. His specialty is developing ultra-brief, stepped-care interventions that non-specialists can deliver—an approach proven to break down access barriers for underserved populations. This blend of hands-on patient work, program-level oversight, and rigorous outcomes thinking now powers Actic’s behavioral-health strategy.
VP, Clinical Relations
For more than 20 years, Sari has guided musculoskeletal teams from treatment rooms to boardrooms— and she still finds time to serve as a physiotherapist for the Canadian Paralympic Team. Her dual perspective on elite sport and everyday rehab lets her bridge frontline clinicians with Actic’s evidence-based protocols, ensuring that the innovation in our app translates into better outcomes on the clinic floor and, ultimately, into lives back in motion.
Strategic Advisor
Over 30 years at Canada Life, Jeff rose from field sales to President & COO, guiding the insurer’s digital overhaul and national expansion. He led Group Customer, Wealth & Estate Planning, Quadrus Investments, and coast-to-coast sales, building networks that reach millions of plan members. A champion of data-driven disability and mental-health programs, Jeff brings Actic the payer’s eye—shaping product fit, regulatory strategy, and large-scale rollouts so our innovations deliver real-world impact.

At Actic, we believe health and employment should move in sync, not in conflict. We’re looking to partner with organizations, insurers, employers, and clinical innovators who share our vision: a faster, fairer, and more human approach to disability management.
